Dialogue Forum

A safe space for the diverse lived experiences of the South Asian diaspora

Our Story
This space is lovingly dedicated to the art of crafting articles, zines, art, films, poetry and music that deeply explores South Asian and personal histories, identities, and narratives, particularly surrounding the 1947 Partition.
Some say we became founded in 2024 by Arjan Singh Rai, who once speaking to people also passionate about South Asia, sought to create a space where our lived experiences, shaped by generations of colonialism, resistance, and transformation, can be expressed through our crafts and storytelling.
We say we were born as soon as the ink dried on the page that ordered the partition of South Asia, ripped apart into countries that were brought forth by the spilling of blood onto land, violence, and fear of the Other-previously neighbours, childhood friends, and kin.
Our Mission
The forum is a space that reclaims our history that has been shaped and dominated by the aftermath of the Partition. It is a space that champions the lives, thoughts, and triumphs of women throughout history and in the contemporary. BSADF is a space where we create new friends across faiths and geographical borders, honour our ancestors, and sculpt a new future for our diaspora.
